Stop analyzing for just a second and take this in.
Because you’re probably missing it. Where you are, right now in your career (and in your life), you should be enjoying this.
If you’re like me, that’s difficult.
I’m wired to problem solve, to maximize and to focus on what’s next. How do I achieve the next “thing” in front of me at an extremely high level?
But man…do you ever get the feeling that we’re on a ride, but missing a lot of it?
What good is working so hard, and impacting so many lives, if we don’t stop for a second to take it in?
So instead of trying to build your practice today, I’m encouraging you to slow down. Go home early. Take your spouse on a date. Wake your kids up at 10PM for ice cream sundaes. Go fill up the local food pantry.
But whatever it is…stop, exhale, smile and make sure to enjoy this. You deserve it.
(Just this week…tomorrow actually…Noah’s starts Kindergarten! He’s grown so much from starting to ending Preschool. My purest hope is that I’ve been present to enjoy everything up to now.)
