Short and sweet today. Here’s a (paraphrased, but close to exact) quote I heard today, from a very successful financial advisor in my office:
“As an advisor, I’ve always been taught to think that vulnerability meant weakness. What I’ve learned today is that vulnerability is relatability…and relatability is where connections are forged.
We’ve been taught all wrong in this industry. We prop ourselves up with “credentials” and “accolades” and “expertise.” People don’t connect to me because of the letters after my name.
When it comes to people, TRUST is more powerful than knowledge. People don’t initially TRUST me because I know things. They TRUST me because they can RELATE to me.”
If your next prospect meets you, then meets him – who do they choose?
